Daggett
Ready to Run With the Outlaws and SOD
From
Marie Osborn: PORTLAND, Mich Coming off of
the SOD/NRA Challenge at the Butler Battlegrounds,
Dustin Daggett is ready to face off with the World
of Outlaws Mean Fifteen at Hartford
Speedway Park on Friday.
Following
a disappointing weekend at Ionia and Butler, Daggett
is preparing his Dowker-powered Maxim chassis for
the big half-mile of Hartford. Daggett definitely
knows his way around Hartford, as he is the two-time
King of Michigan champion.
With
five heat race wins and three feature event victories
with the Sprints On Dirt group in 2003, Daggett
Racing dominated at the half mile. Prior to that,
Daggett had two wins in each of the two previous
seasons at Hartford, bringing the career total up
to seven wins at the track. Also in 2003, Daggett
charged to a top five finish with his 360 motor
against the 410s.
On
Saturday, Daggett will be downsizing his motor to
run with the Sprints On Dirt group at Merritt Speedway
near Traverse City, Michigan. I really enjoy
running at Merritt, said Daggett from their
Portland, Michigan based race shop. The track
is always in great shape, and the facilities are
wonderful.
There
is no doubt that Daggett can run well on the dry-slick
tracks that Michigan is famous for, but he has always
run well at the tacky track in northern Michigan.
A big plus for Merritt is that their track
is one of the only truly tacky tracks that we have
in Michigan, commented Daggett.
Currently,
Daggett is leading the Sprints On Dirt points standings
over J.R. Stewart, Tim Norman, and rookie Nick Mulheim.
