RACE REPORT: Brecht Wins NRA-305 Challenge
Limaland Motorsports Park’s annual NRA/305 Challenge found 39 sprint cars ready to do battle for the bullring’s supremacy. It was, in many respects, a battle of cubic inches on an extremely racey track. The battle that ensued ended up resembling a UFC cage match between two of the heaviest hitters in the game.
Last week’s winner, Mike Brecht, used his front row starting spot to lead the first 10 laps as the likes of Dale Blaney, Darren Long, Mike Dussel, and current EFI-NRA Sprint Invaders points championship leader, Phil Gressman, sorted out who would challenge for the win. For Brecht, it was very simple; fly down the straightaways and turn left when you get to the wall! Gressman was able to show Brecht his nose a couple of times but Brecht never surrendered the lead.
