Daggett wins Eldora NRA Feature, Allison takes Buckeye Double Play
In the wake of a thrilling race a night earlier at Limaland Motorsports Park, the EFI-NRA Sprint Invaders put on another great show for the fans Saturday night at the Eldora Speedway for the second half of the Buckeye Double Play.
After Darren Long quick timed at 14.393 seconds and Luke Hall, Dustin Daggett, and Mike Brecht took the heat races, Tim Allison and Mike Dussel brought the field to the green flag. At the outset Allison served notice that he wanted the Buckeye Double Play clean sweep by jumping into the lead. The race would be slowed with six laps down for Ron Blair stopping on the front stretch with Allison leading Dussel, Daggett, Long, and Tim Norman. On the race's twelfth lap, Dussel got the lead from Allison. A lap 13 caution would bunch up the field one more time with Dussel, Allison, Daggett, Long, and Phil Gressman the top five. On lap 15 Allison stormed past Dussel and back into the lead. However, Daggett was soon nipping at Allison's heels and dove into the lead in turn one on the final lap to take the win. After the checkered flag, Luke Hall flipped violently on the front stretch but was thankfully okay.
By virtue of his win at Limaland and runner-up finish at Eldora, Tim Allison took the EFI-NRA Sprint Invader Buckeye Double Play title. Next up for the Sprint Invaders is the NRA Challenge during All Star Ohio Sprint Speedweek at Limaland Motorsports Park on June 29.
